What is asked of you today.

When the bell calls, give.

The iPhone bell

Coming soon

Once a day, at a moment you cannot predict, the Deedbell app quietly lights up your screen with today's deed. With an Apple Watch, the deed can glow on your watch face and tap your wrist.

Don't want another app? This Apple Shortcut sends a gentle, silent flash of light from your iPhone at unpredictable moments through the day, beginning at sunrise and falling quiet by sunset.

To start it each morning, add it to an automation in the Shortcuts app that runs it at sunrise.

The Android bell

Coming soon

The app is not on Android yet. Leave your email to hear when it is.

The physical bell

An idea

A small object for your home that glows softly a few times a day, a quiet reminder of today's deed.

Adjust the deeds to match your life and convictions.

Attention

Giving your full attention: listening, noticing, and taking time.

Care

Lending practical help: fixing, sharing, cleaning, and tending.

Prayer

Offering prayers: blessing, thanking, forgiving, and remembering.

A quiet practice of daily giving.

What it is

Each day, Deedbell calls you to one good deed: a small, concrete act of giving, meant for others, the world, or yourself. Keep it in mind through the day, or let a bell call you back to it. What you do with it is yours.

The premise

Most of what we're offered for a better life turns us inward: count your streaks, stay plugged in, retreat into comfort. Deedbell leans on an older idea, one that shows up in nearly every tradition people have kept: we are shaped by what we give.
